"The truth about vintage
is it's like shopping for your home. When your out at the store
and you see something you love,
your not sure where you'll put it,
but you
you buy it anyway
because you trust it's quality, beauty, and character.

We just buy because we know we
will always will find a spot for a little joy.
It's the same with top quality vintage. "
- A. Deare,
Owner/Founder Salvato Collection

How is Antique & Vintage clothing and accessories like that perfect piece for your home? Fashion and Home Shopping might be more alike than you realize...

Picture
1. You Have to have it! (It makes you happy).
You know the minute you see that piece, I don't care if it's a tea pot or a tea length dress, when you see it, you know you love it. My golden rule - if you love it and it fit's (and you can afford it) - Buy It! Especially vintage and antique pieces, you may spend a life time trying to find it again and only end up empty handed.

2. The more Timeless the Better!
Like art on your walls, you could spend the rest of your life owning the same vintage dress that remains as stylish as the day you bought it. It's about owning something that could have been worn in many different generations of the past and can be worn/enjoyed for many more generations in the future. As I say, "Vintage Pretty is always Pretty."

3. Antique & Vintage Fashion is Constructed Better. And Better the build, the Longer it lasts.

Modern things are made quick, not made to last. Its the compassion of a print verses owning an oil painting.

I bought a beautiful, designer sofa once for sorta cheap, but no-so-cheap money. It was stiff and it also broke in less than six months. The replacement sofa was not much more, but I bought smart. I looked at How it was built. Now I have a comfy, pretty sectional that is built to last.

I cant tell you how many of my customers are finding vintage and antique are the way to go, even more than ever! I have received emails, even experienced myself, the new (and quite expensive) purchases from high end department stores and 'luxury' designers just aren't holding up like they used to.

Vintage and antique items were built to last. Crafted by hand with materials, styles, fit, tailoring, and construction that is tough, beautiful and made to enhance the female form - but most of all made to own for years and years. Even the 'cheap' labels are more durable compared to many modern 'designer' labels.

Also, may I warn you: just because a dress says 'Retro Style' (or like) doesn't mean it's stitched, tailored or made with the same fabrics or with the exceptional processes of ago. Believe me, most likely its made poorly and one day you may go to wear it a third or fourth time and find the seams have broken.

4. It's eye candy for your home!
Like that perfect little chair or vase with flowers, it makes you happy to look at. Many of our customers buy pieces to place on a hanger and hang on a simple nail or put on a mannequin. It truly is their home decor,  We sell the vintage and antique garments and accessories that you Love and are Nostalgic, that are a Fairytale Elegant Romance. Pieces you cherish.

5. It can have more than one use.

Like a basket that could be hanging on a wall or used to store things - vintage clothing has more than one use. These lovely fashion statements find their way into your everyday or work or special occasion wardrobe because you know it looks good in many different ways.

The perfect example of options is this dusty blue, 1920s silk dress. Its so cute at church, a special occasion but it blends just as well worn at the market with a jean jacket and flip flops.

Another example or versatility is the below vintage. These two lovely ladies are wearing the cutest matching outfits, that are actually pajamas from two different eras. Brieanna, with the blue shawl, is wearing 1800s and 1920s pajamas, while Maya, is in 60s palazzo loungewear with a 70s smoking jacket.
I have had many people buy slips to layer and wear as dresses. Some of those cotton slips make great little dresses for the garden or beach cover ups.

6. It makes Others happy!
If I walk into a lovely decorate home, I feel joy from the prettiness and story of another person's household.
When you wear Salvato Collection vintage clothing, you will most likely get loads of compliments and see others smiling.

Time and time again we get emails and little hand written letters about how another one of out customers keeps getting stopped and complimented whenever they wear our clothes.

It makes other people happy to see a beautiful dress or sparkly brooch, that stands above the rest because its just made better. Its clean, its bright, its brilliant and the word appreciates the craftsmanship and uniqueness.
