![]() Today, when taking the boys on a field trip down towards Cape Cod; I happened upon one of the few Antique Shops still open off season. Inside I found the most wondrous piece of French architecture. As usual, I found a dream piece for a dream price; $50 buck! This hand carved, wood piece was a perfect match for the "glam" and "formal" but "lived in" feel I am going for in my living room. I promise, when our sectional arrives I will post a the whole living room - as for now here is my super find of the day. I must say, our new piece looks great next to that other amazing find I got this summer - another piece of France, that hand crafted chandelier cost me $20! I know, - Unbelievable! It was already newly rewired to boot! The coolest part about that chandelier is the arms look like an octopus and there is a very "sea star" feeling to the "leafs". This couldn't be more perfect for us. We LOVE the ocean and ocean life. So anything that is vintage, looks shipwrecked from the victorian era is right up my alley. My husband owned a tropical Angel fish for 21 years!!! She passed a few years back and any signs we can have in our home that pays tribute to deep sea and ocean living, make both me and my husband so happy. And let's talk a bit about the coral. A south shore antique shop basically gave it away at $10. Always look at the price on objects; even if you think you cant afford them - you never know what you might happen upon. Thanks for viewing and feel free to share your thoughts, opinions, or questions! Also, we would love to see or hear about some of your great finds! Xo
